Hume Internationale has been the exclusive supplier of Gabriel in Australia and New Zealand since 2016. Gabriel began in 1851 as a water-powered woollen mill at Aalborg, and grew into a leading supplier to the global furniture industry. Most of the imported furniture specified here arrives in Gabriel upholstery fabric.

Every Gabriel upholstery fabric reaches at least 50,000 Martindale, and many run to 200,000. Most grade 4 to 5 for pilling, on a scale where 5 means none. The ten-year guarantee against wear-through covers every range we carry.
Fire certified for ships and buildings
For ships, the marine ranges are certified to the IMO FTP Code, Part 8. For buildings, we hold Australian fire reports: AS/NZS 1530.3 on Trevira CS and AS/NZS 3837 on wholly polyester fabrics. The range spans wool, velvet, recycled polyester, mesh, suede, felt and Trevira CS.

Colour is designed across every Gabriel range, so any one sits with any other, and screen and panel fabrics are made to accompany the upholstery.
Every upholstery range rates at least 5 of 8 for lightfastness, so a scheme keeps its colour in the light.
