Sometimes hair is important… Do you like hides with hair?

Capelli:
Hair on Hide
Capelli is Italian for hair. Unlike many of the more obscure leather terms “hair on hide” is what it sounds like. The leather tanning process stopped short of removing the hair from the hide and retained it as a natural feature. It can be used for upholstery or rug use. Hide sizes average 4.8 to 5.5 sqm and are trimmed to a square shape at the top of the hide for rug use. The product is sold in half hides for upholstery use.
Upholstery hair is shave trimmed to an even length. Rugs are left long, and will typically be longer for winter supply and shorter in summer.
Like all leather hair on hide comes in an assortment of colours from natural to exotic. The product is also available in laser cut designs.

Ultimo is a pure aniline leather, produced on premium European hides. Other than the colour dye, the product is entirely natural, with all the hallmarks of aniline leather clearly visible to the naked eye. The finest hide selection and advanced tanning process help to create the remarkably supple feel of ULTIMO, which continues to enhance and soften over time. The magnificence of full aniline leather, combined with the assurance of stain protection in the tanning drum, creates a lightly protected end product that will evolve to look and feel better as the furniture ages.
