Exploring design for the seated environment? Consider Svensson Upholstery Fabrics
Ludvig Svensson is an exceptional fabrics company specialising in commercial fabrics. The company was founded in 1887, in Kinna Sweden, and is now owned by the fourth generation of the Ludvig Svensson family. Like many Northern European textile companies, they have a stunning colour palette that works well in the Australian environment. This is complemented by a wide range of sophisticated, elegant weaves in commercially tough trevira fabrics.
In a nice ecological twist, Svensson also exports climate screens to over 130 countries for greenhouse production! With Svensson climate screens you can grow ‘tomatoes in the Sahara’.

The Svensson upholstery ranges are designer-crafted products made from NZ wool and flame-resistant, washable Trevira CS fabrics.
Anyone who loves Sweden loves the Svensson ranges. The heart of the range is a broad commercially attractive collection utilising different textures on a stunning Northern European colour palette. All of these can be harmonised with a range of unique patterned designs in exciting colour combinations.
The range has been engineered specifically for interiors and public spaces with high demands in terms of function, durability and enduring design qualities.

Club is every designer’s favourite and upholsterer’s nightmare! Truly one of the Svensson range highlights it demonstrates how Svensson combine playfulness with tradition and meet demanding commercial requirements with a modern take on the check and tartan patterns. The name itself is a flirt with British clubs, evoking cut crystal, cigar smoke, Chesterfield sofas and immaculately clad guests. Thanks, however, to soft Nordic pastels and playful colour scales, Club transports check into the interiors of the future. The series comprises six variants and a total of 14 colour schemes. Careful use of strong colour adds to the series’ attractiveness and versatility, while the fabric’s abrasion resistance has been measured to 100,000 Martindale.

Range spotlight: Rami
EGYPTIAN MUMMIES LOVE THIS STUFF!
Rami is constructed using a combination of a natural bast fibre ramie and wool. The Ramie fibre is one of the oldest known natural fibres and has been found in the shrouds used to wrap Egyptian mummies, it is a plant fibre which has natural antibacterial and flame-retardant properties. Mixing the matt wool yarn with the shimmering ramie fibre creates an exciting effect, resulting in an irregular surface full of slubs and tonal colour variation which read as natural characteristic irregularities. The yarns absorb colour dye differently, offering the fabric lustre, depth and life. Any irregularities are a natural characteristic of the fabric. The Rami collection contains 40 colours.

The Svensson interior textile product ranges encompass:
Upholstery fabrics
Carefully designed products made of wool and flame-resistant, washable Trevira CS.
Hanging fabrics

Solar control

All products in the ranges are designed for high-end commercial use, with high rub counts and commercial fire ratings.
The fabrics also offer an exceptional set of characteristics from sound control (acoustic), eco-labels, and NordshieldBioLayr® (designed to combat bacteria and other pathogens).
