Écailles 2501-4 is a Tres Tintas wallpaper from the Méditerranéen collection, designed by Lázaro Rosa-Violán, in beige and grey. Tiny overlapping scales drawn in fine line, set so close that the pattern reads as an even texture.

Écailles is French for scales, as on a fish. Only up close does the texture resolve into scales; at a distance the wall reads as a plain colour with a fine surface. Made in Barcelona and printed to order.
