Kusaki Wall
Kusaki is the Japanese word for plants. The pattern starts as fabric bundled with flower petals, onion skins, black beans and hibiscus, then steamed until the botanicals release their colour into it. Alisa Benfey scaled the result up to wall size. From across a room it reads as soft atmospheric colour. Up close it reads as texture.
The substrate is a coated cellulose sheet, verified at 50 per cent bio-based content under ASTM D6866. It hangs 127cm wide on a 127cm straight across match and cleans with water. Oxivir and Virex II 256 are approved. Fire performance is ASTM E84 Adhered Class A. Where an Australian Group Number is needed we commission the testing and hold the report.
