Amazing Weaves & Stunning Colour Palettes from Svensson
Ludvig Svensson is an exceptional fabrics company specialising in curtain and upholstery fabrics. The company was founded in 1887, in Kinna Sweden, and is now owned by the fourth generation of the Ludvig Svensson family. Like many Northern European textile companies they have a stunning colour palette that works well in the Australian environment. This is complemented by a wide range of sophisticated, elegant weaves in commercially tough trevira fabrics.
Svensson control and own the entire manufacturing process: from design board, yarn and raw material selection to the desired solution and the finished product.
In a nice ecological twist Svensson also export climate screens to over 130 countries for greenhouse production! With Svensson climate screens you can grow ‘tomatoes in the Sahara’.

Upholstery fabrics
Carefully crafted from wool and flame-resistant, washable Trevira CS, offering durability, comfort, and long-lasting style.

Curtain fabrics
Made from natural fibres and flame-retardant Trevira CS, combining elegance, strength, and dependable fire protection.
All products in the ranges are designed for high end commercial use, with high rub counts and commercial fire ratings.
The fabrics also offer an exceptional set of characteristics from sound control (acoustic), eco labels, and Nordshield BioLayr® Designed to combat bacteria and other pathogens).
NordShield BioLayr®
NordShield BioLayr® is a textile treatment that creates an invisible barrier against bacteria. This technology works by forming a thin, invisible layer that stops microbes from sticking to the fabric. The molecular-level operation seamlessly integrates with the textile without altering its properties or appearance. What sets Nordshield apart is its use of renewable wood based ingredients.
We offer the NordShield-treatment for selected textiles and colours, making it ideal for places like hospitals and care facilities where hygiene is crucial. NordShield-treated textiles are also great for offices and schools, as they help control bacteria.
Hume is the only company licensed to sell these products across Australia and New Zealand.
