Want unlimited freedom in wall-design, need commercial grade materials?
We live in a rainbow of Chaos – Paul Cezanne
Interior Design is a creative talent. But for many years design has been limited to selecting from a range of pre-configured material selections. An art form yes, but only paintable with limited colours. We have all spent days pouring over collections looking for a unique wallcovering that will complete a project.
We have for some time now been safely guiding clients through bespoke projects that unlock design freedom. Working with digital print technologies designers now have the ability to unlock vertical surfaces either wall, glass or cabinetry.
For these commercial design projects you need:
- Materials that are durable and fire rated.
- Access to a graphics studio
- Colour matching
- High quality commercial grade print facilities
- Most importantly: A critical resource to navigate through the project
Hit “print” is a simple thing to do. We all do it every day, hopefully much less now. However, it implies it is a simple task and in most instances it is. However, in commercial projects hit “print” normally only arrives after many hours of testing, refining, designing, measuring, matching and clarifying. It is critical when you hit “print” on these projects everyone gets the outcome expected.
We only work with the best in the world, and for many years one of the market leaders has been Newmor Wallcoverings, based in Wales, UK. The team there is incredibly responsive, produce a high end commercial product, operate with an in-house design studio and have been able to solve all problems we’ve put to them.
Case Study: W Hotel Melbourne Foyer
Requirement: Deconstruct two murals into 231 unique panels. Utilise a “reverse to clear backed double print” technique to ensure sufficient “pop” when backlit and mount each panel individually onto clear acrylic board for installation by others.
Each mural was individually numbered and designed for on site installation and assembly.
The result is a stunning display of colour and vibrancy that greets all visitors to the W Hotel in Melbourne.
I could paint for a hundred years, a thousand years without stopping and I would still feel as though I knew nothing – Paul Cezanne
