Companies these days rarely come to the rescue. When was the last time your phone company raced over to fix everything straight away? Did the postal service ever drop everything to concentrate on your missing parcel? Did your energy company ever provide you with a personal generator to get you through a blackout? Superheroes are hard to find in the corporate world, but there are some companies that do have a secret cape hidden away in the drawer. Hume Internationale is one of these companies, a group of individuals whose customer service commitment is so strong that they will go beyond the call of duty at the drop of a hat. And we’ve been doing it for many years. Arts Centre Redevelopment
The Arts Centre Melbourne undertook a substantial repair program of their wall surfaces a number of years ago. We were contacted by an agent for the organisation who was trying to source materials to match the existing wall covering – but they had been unable to find it anywhere. We examined the material, contacted our network of international suppliers, then found a similar commercial grade product in Italy. We took a sample of the material from the site, put it through a colour matching process, arranged to have several hundred metres of the product manufactured and successfully applied it to the repair. Problem solved!
Noumean Hotel Redevelopment
An Australian based design group found a hand-painted picture in a magazine, then wanted to translate it onto a commercial grade wallcovering for a 245 room hotel fit out. Digital printing was in its infancy back then, but we set out to prove it could be done. Working with one of our American based suppliers, we developed a set of lab samples. We then used a local screen printer to mock up the design on enough paper to fit out one room. The room passed the test, and we got the go ahead to manufacture over 5000 lineal metres of fabric backed vinyl. But then we had to find a way to get it there! Surprisingly, Noumea is not on the normal shipping routes so we couldn’t send it by sea. After hunting high and low, we flew it there via NZ and delivered the product in full, on time, to the exact specifications. Problem solved!
State Library Renovation
My heritage dome is falling apart, what can I do? Architects in charge of the State Library Of Victoria contacted us to find a solution to the badly cracked wattle and daub surface in the dome. These surfaces are difficult and expensive to repair. We sourced CRAKGON – an amazing product from South Africa. It’s one of the few products in the world capable of efficiently restoring strength to the dome surface. CRAKGON was installed by professional painters and more than 10 years later the dome cracks have not returned. Problem solved!/p>
